Our Campus
Doctoral College Campus and Head Office is based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Newcastle upon Tyne or simply ‘Newcastle’ as it is most commonly referred to is one of the fastest growing cities in northern England, and offers a world class mix of skills, locations and support to help businesses achieve their growth potential. Home to some of the biggest names in business and professional services, Newcastle and the North East of England has a strong reputation in the banking, corporate finance, insurance, education (5 Universities), health services (NHS), manufacturing (Nissan), contact centres and shared services. It is one of the most iconic cities in Britain, famous for its industrial heritage, well-known beer brown ale, popular nightlife, and distinct regional ‘Geordie’ dialect. Newcastle is located on the River Tyne’s northern bank, with Gateshead opposite on the southern bank. It is the most populous settlement in the Tyneside conurbation and North East England. It developed around a Roman settlement before taking on the name of a new-castle built in 1080. It was one of the world’s largest ship building and repair centres during the industrial revolution and was part of the county of Northumberland until 1400, when it separated and formed a county of itself.
